Summary
Rempro DPC Cream (BBA Certified)
High Strength Cream for Control of Rising Damp in Walls
Key benefits:
Rempro Damp Proof Course (DPC) Cream is a high strength ready-to-use silane/siloxane injection cream which has been designed to create an effective barrier against rising damp in existing walls. Our DPC cream is a tried and tested damp prevention product used by both amateur and professional users and independently approved by the leading approval and certification body, BBA. Certification (19/5657).
Easy to install, Rempro DPC cream is injected into the mortar joint between the brick course via 12mm holes created by the user in the affected walls. DPC cream is extremely easy to apply and requires little technical knowledge or experience. Preparation and re-plastering after treatment are key for successful long-term treatment of any DPC product and the user should fully read and comply with the instructions whilst undertaking the installation works.
Independently tested by the BBA and classified that this product will remain effective against rising damp for at least 20 years.
The BBA certificate is included within the packaging for inspection. The certificate includes instructions for the correct installation of the product. A copy of the instructions is available for the user before purchasing the product via BBA or Fort Products.

Installation of Rempro DPC Cream
Installation of Rempro DPC Cream is by a 400ml applicator gun. It must be carried out in accordance with BS 6576:2005 and the requirements of The Property Care Association Code of Practice for Installation of Remedial Damp-proof Courses in Masonry Walls.
Preparation
The course to be injected is chosen so that the horizontal DPC position complies, as far as is practicable, with the recommendations of BS 6576:2005, Clause 8.3.
Internal walls on solid floors are treated as close to the floor as possible.
Complementary, vertical DPC is positioned, where necessary, to isolate treated walls from the effects of rising damp in adjoining walls or to maintain continuity between horizontal DPC at different levels.
Internal skirting and flooring are removed, as necessary, to expose the area for treatment. Externally, the proposed DPC line is exposed, where necessary, by removing any facing material. Internal plastering, which may be affected by hygroscopic salts, is removed from the area to be treated to a height of at least 300mm above the rising damp's maximum level (subject to a 1m minimum height).
Installation
Holes 12mm in diameter are drilled horizontally at the base of perpends and maximum intervals of 120mm along the selected mortar course.
Solid walls of brick or stone should be drilled from one side to within 20mm of the opposite face. Where this is not possible, advice should be sought from the Certificate holder.
For preference, cavity walls should be treated from both sides, but if the individual leaves' thickness permits, they may be treated from one side. When undertaking treatment from one side, the drill must pass completely through the selected mortar course, then across the cavity and to a depth of 90mm in the other leaf. The cavity must be clear before treatment. When treating cavity walls from one side, the holes in each leaf must be filled.
In random stone and rubble infill walls, the mortar course should, if possible, be followed at the appropriate selected level, or drillings may be made into porous stone. The variable thickness of stone walls and the possibility of rubble infill dropping and blocking injection holes causes difficulties. It may be necessary to drill to 50% of the wall thickness from both sides at a corresponding height. Alternatively, additional holes should be drilled adjacent to obstructed holes to ensure that an adequate volume of Rempro DPC Cream is introduced to the wall.
The injection process consists of loading the Rempro DPC Cream cartridge into the applicator gun and inserting the gun delivery tube into the full depth of the predrilled hole. Each hole is backfilled fully with Rempro DPC Injection Cream to within 10mm of the surface by slowly squeezing the gun trigger whilst withdrawing the delivery tube.
Particular care is taken to avoid bridging the DPC, either internally or externally. External rendering has been removed; it is restored, ending in a bell casting above the injected DPC.
Holes in the external wall surfaces are plugged with sand/cement mortar coloured to match the existing wall surface.
The treated walls are left for at least 14 days to allow initial drying out.
