Compost Activator

Compost Activator is made from natural and organic materials. It greatly improves the quality and readiness of your home produced compost. A high nitrogen content triggers the composting process. Compost Activator is most commonly used in ‘cool composting' methods. The natural composting process is sped up by activator and keeps soil at a neutral ph. Compost makers and accelerators provide food to promote bacterial growth. In turn this encourages the temperature in the compost heap to rise. This kills off weed seeds and intensifies the conversion of garden and kitchen waste into a rich compost, ideal for enriching garden soil.

Application Rates:

Add 60g of activator over each 15cm deep layer of new compost material in your bin or heap.

How to Use:

Add the activator to your bin or heap of compost material. Stir through to ensure even dispersion. Regularly aerating the compost heap through turning will speed up the process and improve the quality of your compost. If your compost is overly dry or woody add a small amount of water to aid the composting process.

When to Use:

Compost Activator is suitable for use all year round, whenever it is required to speed up breakdown. There's no limit to the scale at which Compost Activator operates. It's just as effective in small, household bins and containers as it is on large agricultural and farmyard compost heaps. Use it with any conventional biodegradable green waste such as lawn and garden cuttings or household food waste. STORE in cool dry conditions away from children, pets and food. Always wash hands after use.
