(2) Avoca Caustic Pencils 40% With Cutaneous Stick Description

Pencil-shaped device or applicator containing silver nitrate in different concentrations. Product commonly used for the removal of leeks, warts, excess tissues that form during the wound healing process, granulation tissue, stoma maintenance, umbilical strains, cautery, anterior nosebleed, vasomotor rhinitis, post-biotic cervical necrosis, pain relief for aphthous stomatitis, parenteral feeding sites. Avoca works by destroying the tissue on the top layer of leeks and warts. Used in veterinary medicine as a caustic agent in case of bleeding of the claws.
Indications:
For the treatment of more difficult to reach points such as nose, ears and throat cavity is the use of flexible applicators 15 cm long is recommended. For some types of warts it will be necessary to cut away the hard callused surface to get to the underlying soft tissue.
Instructions for use:
1) Put a drop of water on a non-absorbent surface such as an inverted glass cup
2) Immerse the tip in the drop of water then gently move the tip for one minute
3) Do not touch skin or healthy tissue with water or the tip
4) Protect the surrounding area to be treated with a thin layer of petrolatum gel (Vaseline)
5) Move the tip over the area to be treated in order to transfer the water from the tip to the affected surface
6) Allow the treated area to dry before it comes into contact with other surfaces
7) Use a paper towel to dry the tip of the pencil
8) After about 24 hours of exposure to light, the treated area may stain black
9) After 24 hours the black spot or treated skin should be removed with a nail file or a cardboard file. The remaining leek / wart should be treated again
