Simple to use to use

Very practical tire tread depth gauge. Just put the tip of the device to the tread and measure.
The item is equipped with a pull-out lock. Scale - 1-20 mm (graduated in 1 mm increments)

How to measure the tread?

• Measure the height of the grooves in the center of the tread.
• Measure in a line (in the same groove) in three places, at relatively equal intervals. Make sure the tread wears evenly across the tire.
• Press the tip against the bottom of the groove and read the value from the gauge.
• Measuring tread depth is the ideal time to check the depth of the lateral grooves; if they are wearing unevenly, the cause may be a misaligned wheel alignment.

Some important facts

The official minimum tread depth in Poland is 1.6mm. Driving on tires with less tread depth could lead to a fine and loss of vehicle registration.

Tire manufacturers, for safety reasons, recommend replacing tires when the tread depth exceeds 3mm for summer tires and 4mm for winter tires.

Driving on tires with worn tread drastically reduces grip and increases the likelihood of aquaplaning (water cushion).
