Waterresistant outer layer helps keep feathers drier and cleaner in wet conditions. Elastic fit stays in place on active hens while allowing natural movement and preening. Key features and attributes Set includes two chicken saddles suitable for small to medium adult hens. Elastic construction for a secure, flexible fit that adapts to different body shapes. Waterproof or waterresistant material on the outer side to repel light moisture and dirt. Lightweight design minimizes heat retention and allows airflow to help hens stay cooler in warm weather. Simple slipon style is easy to put on and remove without stress to the bird. Durable stitching and a reinforced saddle area where feather wear is most common. How it solves common problems Reduces feather breakage and loss on the back and tail base, extending feather life between molts. Keeps feathers cleaner during rainy weather and in muddy runs, reducing time spent cleaning birds. Limits damage from mating or aggressive flock behavior by shielding vulnerable areas. Compatibility and sizing Designed for adult hens and compatible with most standard backyard chicken breeds. Elastic material provides stretch for a snug fit; suitable for small to mediumsized birds. Sold as a twopiece set for protecting multiple hens or providing a spare while one saddle is being cleaned. Practical use scenarios During mating season: Place a saddle on hens that experience feather wear on the back to reduce feather loss and maintain appearance. While ranging or in wet weather: Use the waterproof saddles to keep the back feathers cleaner and reduce soiling from rain or wet ground. After grooming or molting: Protect newly grown or fragile feathers from pecking and abrasion until they harden. Simple care and maintenance Remove debris after use and allow to air dry. The fabric is designed for repeated use and easy handling. What makes these saddles stand out Practical twopiece kit for everyday flock protection.
