Air-Con Sensor Description

This air-conditioning occupancy sensor can automatically turn off the AC which has been left running in an unoccupied space.  This can have considerable electricity cost savings, especially where air conditioning could accidentally be left on overnight, for example in commercial buildings.  Savings could be as much as £25 a week off your electricity bill if you are often finding the AC has been left on, which means the cost of this device will be quickly paid back.  This also helps you reduce your carbon emissions.

The device learns the power off command from the remote control and sends the same signal to turn off the AC when the motion sensor determines there has been no occupant in the room for some time.  The wireless battery powered design makes it easy for fast DIY installation by anyone, with easy to follow instructions.  With this device, you will never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the AC.  It also helps to save energy and enjoy air-conditioning without worrying about the cost.

How it works

The AC sensor utilises passive infrared technology to monitor the room for occupancy.  The lens will flash a red light to indicate it has detected a motion signal.

When the occupant has left the room and no presence is detected, this AC sensor will continue to monitor the room for a preset time delay, after which time it will then send the off signal to shutdown the AC. This AC sensor will transmit off commands two times to ensure the AC is successfully powered off.

The AC sensor learns the power off infrared signal from the remote control using easy set up instructions. It sends the same off command to ensure the AC is always correctly shutdown as intended. This AC sensor is passive and cannot power on or restart the AC and does not interact with the AC internal relay.

After turning off the AC, the sensor will not transmit off signals as long as the room stays unoccupied. When this AC sensor detects a motion signal again, such as a person re-entering the room, it will monitor the room for occupancy, and count down time delay before sending off signals again.

This AC sensor cannot be used to power on or restart the AC. The user needs to manually turn on the AC using the remote control if air-conditioning is required.
