starts the vehicle. Module failure is a common problem for A6/S6 2005-2011 and Q7 2007-2015 model vehicles. Module problem is typically identified by no response from key in the ignition, or proximity access (Start button).
The Start / Stop Authorization Module (along with the Electronic Ignition ) is responsible for key/transponder recognition, unlocking/locking of steering wheel and powering all modules in the vehicle.
If there is problem related to any of the lock module moving/wear components (actuator motor, sensing micro-switches, relay) or the integrated Immobilizer system Microprocessor/PCB, the module will not power relays to enable ignition or engine start.
Wear and tear component related failure will store a fault/DTC "00288 - Steering Column Lock Actuator (N360) - Defective".

Note before order:
1. The emulator without lock or lock function, if need the same function as the original J518 Module, please buy the J518 Replacement
2. The WDI PROG dedicated programming cable connector here is only for programming the emulator board, not for original J518 PCB board.
3.so if you have a car which need replace the J518 module with this emulator, you need read out the data in the MCU by soldering wire or other methods, then write the data into the emulator MCU via this dedicated cable connector.
