BEGONIA pendula. Red and Yellow.

BEGONIA pendula. Red and Yellow. Description

BEGONIA pendula.

Red and Yellow.

Pendula begonias are great for hanging baskets or for cascading over the front of pots and tubs.

They are ideal for shady areas and patios as they prefer light shade to full sun.

Planted by themselves or with busy lizzies and fuchsias they will provide truly outstanding splashes of summer colour.

When planted in hanging baskets and patio containers, where their pendulous habit can best be appreciated our exciting medley of colours is guaranteed to brighten the dullest of corners.

For a colourful addition to your home try something different, grow pendula begonia plants on a sunny windowsill indoors.

Start the tubers off in February at a temperature of around 15C and plant out in their final spot in late May to early June after all danger of frosts have passed.

Water Begonia pendula regularly throughout the summer, but avoid water on the foliage as this may cause scorching.

Feed every couple of weeks and remove spent flowers regularly to prolong the flowering season.

The tubers can also be over-wintered, lift in autumn before the first frosts, clean and dry them off, dust with a good fungicide and store in a frost-free place.
