Summary

• The heat up time from ambiant temperature to 1000°C of the GLP is typical 1,3s. Post-glow temperature of up to nearly 1 350°C is possible with the latest generation. The temperature is approximately 30 % higher than metal glow plugs.

• In extreme cold ambient conditions , down to -28°C, a quick start is assuranced after a preheating time of just 2 seconds. In identical conditions, conventional metal glow plugs require around 15 seconds to show the same performance. DuraSpeed is among the fastest glow plugs on the market.
• Low-voltage technology reduces stress on battery and enables faster readiness of engine start. Voltage drop of battery caused during cold start does not lead to thermal performance drop of glow plug.
• High preheating temperature, long post-glow time: The ceramic DuraSpeed allows for a post-glow time of approximately 15min 1200°C temperature. As a result the cold-idling noise of the engine is significant reduced. The intermediate glow phase supports the regeneration of the diesel particle filter. In addition intermediate glow can be used during overrun mode of engine to stabilize short combustion periods.
