bones Calcium is a basic component of bones and teeth, which influences the electrolyte balance in the body, being an irreplaceable element for many of its vital functions. Calcium is also indispensable for the normal course of the blood clotting process, as well as muscle contraction and transmission of nerve impulses.
Vitamin D3 is essential for the development of healthy bones. Vitamin D3 promotes intestinal calcium absorption and stimulates the deposition of mineral salts in bones.
Vitamin K, in addition to its role in the synthesis of coagulation factors, is also involved in bone mineralization, through the action it fulfills in the metabolism of osteocalcin (bone protein matrix), acting synergistically with vitamin D3. In the presence of vitamin K, osteocalcin fixes ionic iron, thereby ensuring normal calcification of bones.
