Castrol Classic XL20w/50 engine oil 1 gallon

Castrol Classic XL20w/50 engine oil 1 gallon Description

For Classic vehicles 1950s-1980s

Castrol Classic XL 20w-50 is a premium mineral multigrade engine oil developed for post-war classic cars and motorcycles built between approximately 1950 and the early 1980s. Formulated to meet the lubrication requirements of traditional engine designs, it provides dependable protection and performance for vehicles that were originally specified to use a 20w-50 grade oil.

The carefully balanced formulation helps maintain a protective oil film across a wide range of operating temperatures, making it ideal for everything from weekend drives and classic car shows to long-distance touring. Its multigrade characteristics provide improved cold-start performance compared with monograde oils, while retaining the higher viscosity required by many classic engines when fully warmed up.

XL 20w-50 is particularly suited to vehicles fitted with a modern spin-on oil filter, whether installed by the manufacturer or as a later upgrade. It is also suitable for many later classic motorcycles, although machines fitted with roller main bearings should continue to use the appropriate monograde oil as recommended by the manufacturer.

Many classic vehicle manufacturers originally recommended Castrol lubricants in their owner's handbooks, and XL 20w-50 continues that tradition by providing a period-correct mineral formulation for classic motoring.
