Celestron EclipSmart White-Light Solar Filter for 8" SCT/Edge HD OTAs Description
Adapt your conventional nighttime Schmidt-Cassegrain (SCTs) or Edge HD telescope to safely view the sun with Celestron's EclipSmart White-Light Solar Filter. Designed specifically for select 8" models in their catalog, the filter ring is modeled on the scope's original lens cap for a safe and snug fit. For enhanced safety, the filter comes with two touch-fastener strips and four tabs that adhere to the filter and retaining rings to make sure the filter doesn't accidentally come off.
Made of a proprietary Mylar film, the filter is ISO 12312-2 compliant for safe solar viewing, blocking 99.999% of intense light across the entire visible spectrum and 100% of harmful ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation; resulting in high-contrast views of the sun in a neutral color. At just 4.2 ounces, the filter will provide the safety required to observe the sun and all phases of a solar eclipses without adding significant weight to the front of your OTA.
