Chilli Pepper CAYENNE Red hot in colour and red hot in taste that's Chilli pepper Cayenne. A chilli pepper with a lot of kick. Renowned by pepper lovers for its immediate but quick acting effect, just one touch with the tongue will make you mouth explode with heat. The long, slim, pointed, bright green pods of Cayenne often grow to 4-5 ins. long and are produced in great abundance and profusion. They turn deep red as they mature. Fruits typically weigh 50-90g and are best used fresh in hot sauces or added to casseroles. Cayenne can also be dried for long term storage. Best grown indoors in a greenhouse or on a sunny patio Chilli pepper Cayenne can also be grown outdoors in a sunny, well sheltered position once all danger of frost has passed. The plants which will crop approx. 18 weeks after sowing will need a little support as the fruit develops. Cayenne pods can be used green or red. High in vitamin A Cayanne also contains vitamin B6, vitamin E, vitamin C, riboflavin, potassium and manganese.
