Cordyline RED STAR. Cabbage Palm.

Cordyline RED STAR. Cabbage Palm. Description

Cordyline RED STAR

A compact, evergreen variety of the ever-popular Cordyline australis.

Red Star features long, arching rusty red or bronze leaves and provides colour and interest throughout the year.

Mature plants will occasionally produce fragrant creamy-white flowers in summer followed by bluish-white berries in autumn.

Good wildlife plant, bees love the flowers and birds especially starlings feast on the berries.

Cordyline Red Star prefers a sunny spot with well-drained soil well away from cold winter winds.

Great for the adding height and texture to the back of a border and blends well with other exotic plants such as Canna or Musa.

Copes well with coastal conditions making it very popular in seaside garden.

If space is limited Cordyline Red Star can be grown in large pots, containers or tubs for use on the patio or in the courtyard and can be moved to a more sheltered spot in winter.

This low maintenance plant will certainly give your garden a tropical feel.

Pictures used are of mature plants and are for illustration purposes only, they may not show the plant at all times of the year.

We supply Cordyline Red Star as young well grown plants in 9cm pots. They can be planted outside immediately but better results can be obtained by growing them on for a short time in a slightly larger container before planting in their final growing positions.

We ask all our buyers to remember Cordyline plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don't panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil. We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Cordyline Red Star will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission. Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been dispatched in error. Long, arching rusty red or bronze leaves providing colour and interest throughout the year.
