MILK THISTLE TABLETS
A dietary supplement, to be used at times when the liver needs extra support.
Milk Thistle fruit contains the well documented active ingredient Silymarin, which has hepatoprotective properties. It supports the liver in several ways, most importantly by scavenging
free radicals that are associated with cell damage and transforming them into less harmful compounds.
Milk Thistle is more beneficial when not directly combined with other herbs, and this product stays true to the core principles of herbalism by using Milk Thistle fruit in its entirety. This ensures that as well as gaining the benefits from Silymarin it also retains the ‘balancing’ effects of the other constituents.
The extract in this tablet is the highest quality available which places it in the forefront of natural hepatoprotective products.
- Ingredients: Milk Thistle seed extract 100mg (80% Silymarin).
- Administration: 1 tablet per 5kgs bodyweight daily, split into at least 2 amounts during the day.
- Use during pregnancy and lactation: Not recommended.
- Age from which can be used: 8 weeks of age.
- Interactions: Can be given in conjunction with any other medication under veterinary advice.
- Long or short term use: Both as the condition requires.
- Special warning: This product should only be used when the liver is in need of support.

Earlier this year during a routine blood test for my 12 year old miniature poodle that was required, it was found that two of her liver enzymes showed an abnormal rise in the readings which were above the accepted levels. Looking through the catalogue produced by Dorwest Herbs, I saw that their Milk Thistle Tablets gave a natural source of Silymarin which protects the liver when it is in need of support. I showed this to my vet and she immediately recommended that I use these particular tablets, with a prescription tablet she insisted I gave the dog. We are both extremely pleased, her liver is back to normal and her prescription drug is now being stopped but the Milk Thistle Tablets are to continue as maintenance support. I do hope the information above shows the absolute faith I have in Dorwest Herbs Ltd and I would never hesitate in recommending your products, either on their own or alongside any drugs the vets may prescribe.

I bought 3 months worth of this product (with my vets agreement) because my golden retriever had impaired liver function from taking phenbarbitone for epilepsy. His test result at the start was 342, normal range being 10-18. The primary ingredient is Silymarin. Within 3 months of starting his tablets his test was right down at 60. Another course should bring it into normal range. I am over the moon about this amazing result (so is my vet) and cannot recommend your product highly enough. Thank you Dorwest.
