Evening Primrose, sometimes known as Evening Star is a Biennial plant is native to North America and other temperate counties. Our organic Evening Primrose oil is produced here in the United Kingdom from seeds of the yellow Evening Primrose plants.

The name derives from the flowers, that fully open at night and close again in the morning. Its believed that it was first used by Native Americans for wound healing and its sedative properties.

Oenothera biennis, the common evening-primrose, is a species of flowering plant in the family Onagraceae, native to eastern and central North America, from Newfoundland west to Alberta, southeast to Florida, and southwest to Texas, and widely naturalised elsewhere in temperate and subtropical regions.

Other common names include evening star, sun drop, weedy evening primrose, German rampion, hog weed, King's cure-all and fever-plant.

Magickal uses include love and attracting faeries. Use in ritual baths to increase inner beauty & desirability.
