Flavamed, raspberry flavor syrup 100 ml, cough and cold

Flavamed is a medicine in the form of a syrup, intended for children over 1 year of age and adults, which is used in acute and chronic diseases of the lungs and bronchi with disorders in the production and transport of mucus.

Flavamed dilutes the secretion, making it more watery, making it easier to expectorate mucus.

Acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs, with impaired production and expectoration of mucus.

5 ml of syrup contains:

• active substance: 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride,
• excipients: sorbitol 70%, non-crystallizing benzoic acid, glycerol 85%, hydroxyethylcellulose, raspberry flavor, purified water.

Expectorant, thinning secretions.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist. The information below applies unless your doctor has recommended you use the medicine differently. Please follow the instructions for use of the medicine, otherwise the medicine will not work properly.

• Children aged 1 to 2 years: 2.5 ml of syrup (half a measuring spoon) 2 times a day.
• Children aged 2 to 5 years: 2.5 ml (half a measure) of syrup) 3 times a day;
• Children aged 6 to 12 years: 5 ml (one measuring spoon) of syrup) 2-3 times a day;
• Children from 12 years of age and adults: in the first 2-3 days of treatment, 10 ml (2 scoops) of syrup 2-3 times a day. Treatment is continued by administering 10 ml (2 scoops) of syrup twice a day.
• In adults, if necessary, the dose can be increased to 60 mg twice daily.

The medicine should be taken orally, after a meal, using the measuring cup provided. Do not use the medicine immediately before going to bed. Without consulting a doctor, the medicine should not be used for longer than 4-5 days.

If you are allergic to ambroxol hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):

• nausea,
• taste disorders,
• feeling of numbness in the mouth and throat (hypoaesthesia).

Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):

• fever,
• dry oral mucosa,
• diarrhea
• digestive problems (indigestion),
• stomachache,
• vomiting,
• facial swelling,
• respiratory disorders.

Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):

• hypersensitivity reactions,
• rash, hives.

Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):

• anaphylactic reactions, including anaphylactic shock,
• angioedema (rapidly progressive swelling of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, mucosa or submucosal tissue) and itching,
• serious skin side effects (including erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis and acute generalized pustulosis),
• dry throat.
