GoPro's landmark step into professional action cinema — the MISSION 1 Pro replaces the 1/1.9" sensor of the Hero series with a 50MP 1-inch quad-bayer chip and a new GP3 processor, delivering 8K60, 4K240, and 240 Mbps bitrates in a waterproof-to-20m body built for real-world conditions.

• Sensor — 50MP 1-inch quad-bayer, 1.6µm native / 3.2µm fused pixels, 14 stops dynamic range: The 1-inch sensor is dramatically larger than any previous GoPro, capturing more light and significantly more detail at every resolution. Quad-bayer pixel fusion combines adjacent pixels in demanding conditions for improved low-light performance. 14 stops of dynamic range enables footage with natural-looking highlights and shadow detail suited to professional grading workflows.
• Processor — GP3 (5nm, AI-based image processing): Built on a 5nm architecture for roughly 2× the pixel processing power of the GP2, the GP3 enables the camera's category-leading resolutions, frame rates, and thermal performance in sustained recording — critical for extended action or event shooting.
• Video — 8K60, 4K240, 1080p960 (16:9); Open Gate 8K30, 4K120 (4:3): The full 16:9 lineup covers 8K at 60fps, 4K at up to 240fps, and 1080p burst slow motion up to 960fps (up to 10 seconds). Open Gate 4:3 recording at 8K30 and 4K120 captures a taller frame giving editors 33% more image to reframe for vertical, square, or widescreen delivery without cropping into shot content. 2×, 3×, and 4× digital zoom crop into the full 8K sensor with no dedicated zoom hardware.
• Image quality — 10-bit, HLG HDR, GP-Log2, up to 240 Mbps: Three colour pipelines: standard (H.265/H.264), flat colour, and the new GP-Log2 profile for maximum dynamic range retention in post. HLG HDR delivers a broadcast-ready wide dynamic range output without manual grading. Bitrate options: 120 Mbps (standard), 180 Mbps (High), 240 Mbps (Max) for highest quality archival and professional use.
• Photography — 50MP RAW stills, 44MP extractions from 8K60 video: Full 50MP RAW capture for maximum post-processing latitude. Alternatively, 44MP still frames can be pulled directly from any 8K video at up to 60FPS. High-speed burst shooting supported.
• Lens — 159° field of view, fixed GoPro 14mm standard lens, removable lens hood: The 159° ultra-wide standard lens captures the broadest perspective in the lineup. Includes a removable sun shade/lens hood to reduce flare in direct light. Note: Mission 1 Pro uses a new, physically larger lens mount to accommodate the 1-inch sensor — existing GoPro Hero 13 lens mods are not compatible.
• Stabilisation — HyperSmooth with Horizon Lock, Diving Mode: GoPro's HyperSmooth electronic stabilisation keeps footage smooth across action sports, travel, and high-vibration mounts. Dedicated Diving Mode applies automatic underwater colour correction (compensates for red/warm light absorption at depth) and adjusts stabilisation behaviour for aquatic conditions.
