"Vitamin E Hasco - prevention of vitamin E deficiency.

Composition

The active substance is all-rac-α-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) in an amount of 100 mg per capsule.

The other excipients are: purified peanut oil, gelatin, glycerol, cochineal red (E 124).

Dosage

Always use exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Oral administration.

Recommended dose

Unless your doctor advises otherwise, adolescents and adults usually take 1 or 2 capsules a day.

Action

Vitamin E is one of the essential nutrients, but its role is still not fully understood. Together with catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and selenium, it is part of the system that protects the cell against the effects of free oxygen radicals. Protects polyunsaturated fatty acids in membranes and other cell structures, stabilizes cell membranes and

cell organelles, prevents hemolysis of red blood cells. Protection against damage by oxygen radicals seems important in the development and functioning of the nervous and muscular systems. Vitamin E can also act as a cofactor in some enzyme systems. It takes part in glucose oxidation and glycogenolysis. It participates in the metabolism of lipids: prostaglandins and cholesterol. Epidemiological studies indicate a relationship between the daily supply of vitamin E and the risk of ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis and other diseases whose pathogenesis is related to oxidative stress. Vitamin E reduces the aggregation activity of platelets.

Side effects

Vitamin E is generally well tolerated. After taking large doses (above 800 mg/day), fatigue, weakness, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders and rash may occur.

Warnings and precautions

Vitaminum E Hasco contains peanut oil (peanut oil). If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, do not use this medicine.

Due to the content of cochineal red, the drug may cause allergic reactions.

Store at room temperature.

Protect from light and moisture.

Keep out of the reach of small children.

Taking other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

Vitamin E may have an antagonistic effect on vitamin K, especially in people treated with oral anticoagulants or estrogens. The use of other antioxidants (vitamin C, selenium, ubiquinone, sulfur-containing amino acids) may alleviate some symptoms of vitamin E deficiency.

The simultaneous use of iron preparations weakens the effect of vitamin E, so a break of several hours between taking these drugs should be maintained. Vitamin E may reduce the need for insulin and digitalis glycosides (e.g. digoxin) and increase the absorption, utilization and storage of vitamin A."
