1. What is Iberogast Balance and what is it used
for Iberogast Balance is a herbal medicinal product used to treat functional dyspepsia (indigestion), with the main symptoms being: abdominal pain, burning in the epigastrium, feeling of fullness after a meal and early feeling of satiety, but often also loss of appetite, excessive belching and heartburn.
Iberogast Balance is indicated for use in adults over 18 years of age.
If after 7 days there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, contact your doctor.

2. Important information before using Iberogast Balance
When not to use Iberogast Balance
If you are allergic to any of the active substances (bitter cannabinoids herb, chamomile flower, caraway fruit, lemon balm leaf, peppermint leaf or licorice root) or other plants of the Apiaceae or Asteraceae family.

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Iberogast Balance.
If you do not feel better after 7 days, feel worse or have new symptoms, consult your doctor to rule out other diseases.

Children and adolescents
The use of Iberogast Balance in children and adolescents under 18 years of age has not been established due to the lack of appropriate data. For this reason, the use of the preparation in children and adolescents is not recommended.

Iberogast Balance and other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking, have recently taken or are planning to take.
No interactions with other medicines have been found.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
There are no or limited data on the use of Iberogast Balance in pregnant women. As a precaution, it is preferable to avoid the use of Iberogast Balance during pregnancy.
There is insufficient data on the excretion of the active substances of Iberogast
Balance or their metabolites into human milk. A risk to a breast-fed child cannot be excluded. Consult your doctor.

Driving and using machines
Iberogast Balance has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Iberogast Balance contains ethanol
This medicine contains 240 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in 20 drops. The amount of alcohol in a single dose (20 drops/1 mL) of this medicine is equivalent to less than 7 mL of beer or 3 mL of wine. The small amount of alcohol contained in this medicine does not cause any noticeable effects.

3. How to use Iberogast Balance
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose is
Adults over 18 years of age: 20 drops 3 times daily.

Patients with renal or hepatic impairment:
There are insufficient data to provide specific dosing recommendations for renal or hepatic impairment.
