Totally use open source tool chain to develop
iCESugar is a open source FPGA development board based Lattice iCE40UP5k.
Though it's small and exquisite, it contains rich peripheral resources board including RGB LED,,TYPE-C-USB, Micro-USB.
Most of the IO are led out by standard PMOD connector and can connect with other PMOD device.
Also, it has a -board debugger called iCELink which is based ARM Mbed DAPLink. You can just drag the FPGA bitstream into the virtual disk to program with a convenience, since the iCELink supports drag-and-drop programming, USB CDC serial port and JTAG.
