Description:

Ketonal Active 50 mg is an over-the-counter painkiller.  A medicine in the form of hard capsules, used for pain of various origins and intensity, as well as for fever.  The medicinal product also has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effects. The properties of the drug result from the active substance contained in it, which is ketoprofen (Ketoprofenum). The use of Ketonal Active is recommended for moderate acute pain. It is an effective method for headaches, toothaches, or muscle pain, as well as pain resulting from an injury.

Composition:

The active substance of the medicine is: ketoprofen (Ketoprofenum). One capsule contains 50 mg of ketoprofen. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica. Capsule: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171), patent blue (E 131).

Indications and action:

Paracetamol Biofarm is used for pain of various origins and intensity, especially: headaches, migraines, rheumatic pain, joint, muscle and bone pain, spinal pain, neuralgia, menstrual pain, toothache. Fever in the course of a cold or flu. Paracetamol Biofarm contains the active substance paracetamol, which has analgesic and antipyretic effects. The drug does not have an anti-inflammatory effect. Paracetamol is less irritating to the stomach than non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. acetylsalicylic acid).

Dosage:

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist. The medicine is administered orally. Do not use for longer than 3 days without consulting your doctor. Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age with a body weight of at least 50 kg: 1 tablet is used at a time, if necessary, the next one can be taken after an interval of 4 to 6 hours. The maximum daily dose is 4 tablets (4,000 mg of paracetamol). Special patient groups: adults and children aged 12 years and over (weighing less than 50 kg), patients with renal or hepatic failure (mild to moderate), patients with Gilbert's syndrome, dehydrated or chronically malnourished patients, patients chronically consuming alcohol, should consult a doctor before using the drug to determine the appropriate dose for them.

Contraindications:

When not to take Ketonal Active: if the patient is allergic to ketoprofen or any of the other ingredients of this drug; if the patient has had shortness of breath, an asthma attack, swelling of the nasal mucosa or a skin reaction (manifested by skin swelling or itchy rash) or another type of allergic reaction after using ketoprofen or similarly acting drugs (such as acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so-called NSAIDs); if you have: severe heart failure, severe renal failure, severe hepatic failure, bleeding tendency, active gastric and/or duodenal ulcer or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation, if you are in the third trimester of pregnancy.
