KNIPHOFIA Little Maid

Commonly known as Red Hot Poker.

A clump forming, deciduous perennial with narrow grass or strap like mid green, angled leaves.

From July to October Kniphofia Little Maid carries long upright spikes or racemes of flowers

The flowers emerge sulphur yellow from green tinted buds and fade to cream as they mature.

Growing to approx. 60cm these torch-like flowers look extremely stately in a mixed or herbaceous border.

Kniphofia Little Maid prefers a sunny site and perform best when planted in moist but well drained, humus rich soil.

In autumn remove any remaining flower spikes and apply a deep mulch to the crown of the plant.

Large or overcrowded plants should be lifted and divided in spring.

Our plants of Kniphofia Little Maid are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions

Please don't panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil. We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Kniphofia plants are checked and inspected visually before packing. Due to the nature of the item we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Kniphofia Little Maid will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission. Refunds will be issued after the plants are received back in a saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
