Levopront syrup 120 ml , cough , cold and flu

Levopront is a drug in the form of a syrup for dry cough. The medicinal product inhibits the cough reflex in the respiratory tract. The indication for use is the symptomatic treatment of non-prodictive cough, called dry cough. The syrup can be used for cough in adults and children over 2 years of age.

Levopront effectively stops dry cough of various origins, including:

• cough associated with upper and lower respiratory tract infections,
• cough in the course of lung cancer,
• cough due to whooping cough.

Levopront syrup contains the active substance levodropropizine, which has antitussive and antibronchospasm-relieving effects. Importantly, it does not inhibit the respiratory center and does not interfere with mucociliary clearance in the respiratory tract. It also does not interact with many drugs used in respiratory diseases1.

Symptomatic treatment of dry (non-productive) cough.

10 ml of syrup contains:

• other ingredients: sucrose, citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, cherry flavour and aroma enhancer, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.

Antitussive, antispasmodic.

• Children from 2 years  (depending on body weight):
  • 10-20 kg:  3 ml of syrup three times a day;
  • 20-30 kg:  5 ml of syrup three times a day.
• Adults:  10 ml three times daily.
• The syrup should be taken orally, between meals, at least 6 hours apart.
• A measuring cup is included with the syrup bottle.

The treatment should be continued until the cough disappears or as recommended by the doctor. In any case, if the cough does not subside after 7 days of treatment, it is recommended to stop using the medicine and consult a doctor. It should be remembered that cough is a symptom of a disease and the disease that causes it should be recognized and then treated. Levopront should not be used for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.

• Allergy to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
• Do not use:
  • in people with abundant bronchial secretions and impaired function of the bronchial epithelium cilia (Kartagener syndrome, ciliary dyskinesia),
  • in pregnant and breastfeeding women and those intending to become pregnant.
