Medlar Nottingham Fruit Tree | 5-6ft Supplied in a 7.5 Litre Pot By Direct Plants Description

Medlar ‘Nottingham’ Fruit Tree – Large 5–6ft Tall in a 7.5 Litre Pot – Traditional Heritage Fruit Tree – By Direct Plants

Rediscover one of Britain's finest traditional orchard fruits with the beautiful Medlar ‘Nottingham’ Fruit Tree, supplied here as a premium large specimen approximately 5–6ft tall in a 7.5 litre pot by Direct Plants. Carefully grown and selected at our award-winning family nursery in Norfolk, this exceptional heritage fruit tree is prized for its ornamental beauty, abundant spring blossom, spectacular autumn colour, and unique edible fruits.

The Nottingham Medlar is regarded as one of the finest Medlar varieties available, producing larger, higher-quality fruits than many older selections. A favourite in traditional English orchards for centuries, its distinctive fruits are harvested in late autumn and traditionally enjoyed after bletting, when they soften naturally to develop a rich, sweet flavour, perfect for preserves, jellies, desserts, wines, and traditional recipes.

In spring, the tree becomes covered in large, elegant white blossom, attracting bees and pollinating insects. Throughout summer, its attractive green foliage creates a graceful canopy before transforming into vibrant shades of golden yellow, orange, and bronze during autumn, making it as ornamental as it is productive.

Supplied as a strong, healthy, well-established specimen in a large 7.5 litre pot, this premium fruit tree offers instant impact and years of reliable harvests.
