Methyl Ethyl Ketone MEK 5L Butanone Solvent Description

???? Product Overview:
Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) is a high-performance solvent widely used in industrial and DIY applications. Known for its fast evaporation rate and powerful cleaning ability, MEK effectively dissolves resins, paints, varnishes, and adhesives. Perfect for surface preparation, degreasing, and chemical formulation tasks.

???? Step-by-Step: 5 Main Uses & How to Use

1. Paint Thinning:

   • Mix MEK into paint at a ratio of 5–10% (50–100ml per litre).

   • Stir thoroughly until fully blended.

   • Always test on a small area first.

2. Adhesive Cleaning:

   • Apply 10–20ml of MEK on a clean cloth.

   • Wipe adhesive residue gently until dissolved.

3. Resin Dissolving:

   • Add 100ml MEK per kg of resin to achieve desired viscosity.

   • Mix slowly in a well-ventilated area.

   • Allow solvent to evaporate before curing.

4. Surface Degreasing:

   • Dampen a lint-free cloth with 20–50ml MEK.

   • Wipe metal, glass, or plastic surfaces before coating or painting.

   • Let surface dry completely before use.
