Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter is an antibacterial medicine. It can be used in adults and children from 7 years of age. It is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic diarrhoea of bacterial origin and other conditions associated with diarrhoea.

Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter tablets – product characteristics
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter can help combat diarrhoea caused by bacterial infection. The coated tablet form makes it easy to swallow and allows the medicine to work quickly. The medicine is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, which means it acts only locally in the intestinal lumen. It is highly effective against pathogenic bacterial strains and is generally well tolerated.
The active ingredient, nifuroxazide, has antibacterial action against most bacteria responsible for intestinal infections. It inhibits the multiplication of pathogenic strains, weakens them, and ultimately destroys them. In addition to the active substance, the product contains excipients that support its effectiveness.

Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter 100 – when should it be used?
Indicated for acute or chronic diarrhoea of bacterial origin. The medicine works locally and provides quick relief from symptoms such as loose stools and abdominal discomfort. It is effective in managing conditions accompanied by diarrhoea. Although considered safe, rare side effects may occur, in which case a doctor should be consulted.
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter targets harmful bacteria without disturbing the natural intestinal microbiota. It is excreted completely unchanged.
It can be used in children over 6 years of age and adults. It should be taken with plenty of fluids, as proper hydration is essential during diarrhoea.

Composition
Active ingredient: nifuroxazide
Other ingredients: colloidal anhydrous silica, potato starch, gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol 20000, quinoline yellow (E 104).

Dosage
Adults and children aged 7 years and older: 2 tablets 4 times daily, every 6 hours.
For oral use. Swallow tablets whole with a sufficient amount of liquid, such as a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablets.
If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days, consult a doctor.
Do not use Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter for more than 3 days without medical advice.

Contraindications
Allergy (hypersensitivity) to nifuroxazide or any of the ingredients. Allergic reactions may include swelling of the face, lips, tongue or difficulty breathing (seek medical help immediately if these occur).
Do not use in children under 7 years of age due to the risk of difficulty swallowing the tablet.
