Pirolam 10 mg/ml Skin Fluid - 30ml Description

What is Pirolam and what is it used for?
The active substance of Pirolam is ciclopirox with olamine. Pirolam is an antifungal drug intended for topical application to the skin.
This drug works on fungi called dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi, molds, mixed fungal infections that occur on the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory effects, which is especially important when mycosis is accompanied by inflammation.
The drug penetrates the skin through the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands.
The drug is used in:
- treatment of smooth skin mycosis,
- treatment of hairy skin mycosis,
- treatment of athlete's foot mycosis,
- treatment of crural mycosis.
Smooth skin mycosis - can occur all over the body, most often on the hairless skin of the head, neck, face and arms. Characteristic are ring-shaped lesions with a pink to red color. They are covered with lumps and scales, spread peripherally and tend to recede in the central part.
Athlete's foot - occurs on the scalp in the form of large, round foci, which are characterized by peeling of the skin and broken hairs or in the form of gray-yellow scabs grown into the skin.
Athlete's foot - occurs on one or both feet, most often between the toes. It also appears on the sole of the foot (instep). Fungal lesions between the toes are characterized by maceration (exfoliation). These lesions may also be vesicular in nature. Sudden exacerbations with the eruption of numerous vesicles and blisters occur mainly during hot weather. Itching, pain, inflammation, eruption of vesicles may be mild or severe. In the case of long-lasting athlete's foot, it is necessary to consult a doctor, as nail infection may occur. In the case of nail fungus, the use of Pirolam Lakier is recommended.
Athlete's foot - symptoms include lumps around the hair follicles and broken hairs at
the skin surface.

2. Important information before using Pirolam
When not to use Pirolam
- if you are allergic to ciclopirox olamine or any of the other ingredients of
this medicine (listed in section 6),
- if you have a fungal infection of the eye, around the eyes or vagina,
- in infants and children under 6 years of age.

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Pirolam.
If an allergic reaction occurs, stop treatment and contact your doctor immediately.
Before using Pirolam, you must talk to your doctor:
- if you have diabetes, circulatory problems in your hands and feet, immune disorders
(e.g. HIV infection, transplant patients, patients treated simultaneously
with corticosteroids, patients with recurrent or long-term shingles or
herpes);
- if you have skin diseases, e.g. psoriasis or other chronic skin diseases.
The medicine is intended for use on the skin only.
Itchy, infected areas should not be scratched.
Protect your eyes from contact with the medicine.
Do not inhale the medicine.
