Raspberry Malling Promise If you can only have one variety of Raspberry in your garden Malling Promise must be a contender. The vigorous, self-fertile plants produce heavy crops of berries early in the season on thorny stems. Malling Promise also shows strong disease resistance. The firm red berries are large, plump and extremely tasty. They can be eaten straight from the bush or used to make tarts, pies or jams and Malling Promise berries also freeze well. When planting, space the canes at intervals of 1.5m with 1.5m between the rows. Thrives in moist well drained soil but Malling Promise also has a big reputation for being successful in poor soils. Best in full sun but needs a little protection from strong, biting winds. We supply Raspberry Malling Promise as freshly lifted, fully certified bare-root canes from one of the UK's leading raspberry growers. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Raspberry canes will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission. A valid reason for return must be quoted. Refunds will only be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error. CARE OF BARE-ROOT PLANTS Plants should be unpacked on delivery and if not to be planted immediately should be placed in a shallow trench and the roots completely covered with moist sand or soil until planting.
