Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. These tiny balls of cleansing oil are attracted to dirt and oil, meaning they are able to draw out impurities without drying the skin. Washing your face with hard water can actually be detrimental to skin health, as it has been shown to disrupt the skin's barrier function.
