The pair played in one of snooker's most famous matches, the 1985 World Snooker Championship final, known as the "Black Ball Final". Davis, who was the defending champion and the favourite to win, led 9-1 in the best of 35 frame- but Taylor produced a thrilling comeback to win the match on the final ball of the final frame.
