The Douglas C-48 was the designation given to 36 Pratt & Whitney powered DC-3s by the USAAF after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. They were a mix of aircraft already in service (28 aircraft) and aircraft still in production (8 aircraft) and had quite a mix of facilities, including three with only ten seats that were used as staff transports. Another six Pratt & Whitney aircraft were manufactured as C-52s and two as C-68s.
