Ubiquinol is the active form of coenzyme Q10-otherwise known as CoQ-10. In addition to being an essential component for energy production, ubiquinol also supports cardiovascular health and protects your cells against free radical damage. However, your ability to convert CoQ-10 into ubiquinol can decline with statin use and age.

Ubiquinol is a more readily available, active form of CoQ-10 that provides improved bioavailability over standard CoQ-10 (Ubiquinone) supplements. 

Statin medications may deplete CoQ-10 in the body. Supplementation with the Vitamin Shoppe brand CoQ-10 promotes CoQ-10 levels and may help prevent medication-induced depletion.
