2. Set the switch to OFF in order to turn off the light completely.

Perfect for the purpose I had in mind. It was easy to position on the side of my door to illuminate the lock. It triggers on as soon as you are near it and is bright enough to light up the few stairs that lead to the door. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend.
