Window Seat The poems in Window Seat document the experiences and reflections of an ageing pedagogue trying to get to grips with what, if anything, his life has meant and what his place is supposed to be in an increasingly complicated world. The poems deliberately have no chronology, but dip in and out of a uniquely unexceptional life, recalling the trivial and tragic; trying to make sense of both whilst wondering if either of them actually matter. So, in this collection you will discover: what happens when a teacher falls asleep in his own lesson; why smart phones should be confiscated (and crushed) when held aloft at concerts; why deprecation delights and ideology blights; why there is no right way to respond to tragedy; why moles can turn kindly coves into psychopaths; why childhood feeds into everything we later become - whether we like it or not - and why nature can restore a degree of sanity to even the most cynical of spirits.
