Are fan heaters expensive to run?

Ascertaining if this is cheaper than the cost of running a radiator will depend on whether it’s an oil-filled electric model, or one that’s part of an existing central heating system. The majority of oil-filled radiators are rated at less than 1kWh, which makes them cheaper than fan heaters on an hourly basis. However, in order to completely heat a room, oil-filled radiators have to be left on for longer, so, all in all, the costs are actually very similar.
