2PCS L298N Driver Board Module 25W High Power L298 Motor Driver for Car Robot Breadboard Description
This module utilizes the L298N as its main driver chip, offering high drive capability, low heat generation, and strong anti-interference performance.
The module can operate using power drawn from the drive voltage input via the built-in 78M05 regulator; however, to prevent damage to the regulator chip, an external 5V logic power supply should be used when the drive voltage exceeds 12V.
The module incorporates high-capacity filter capacitors and flyback protection diodes to enhance reliability.
Precautions:
1. When the drive voltage (labeled "12V Input" in the diagram, though the actual acceptable range is 7-12V) is between 7V and 12V, you may enable the onboard 5V logic power supply. Once the onboard 5V supply is enabled, do not input voltage into the +5V interface pin; however, you may draw 5V from this pin to power external components. (This is the standard application method.)
2. When the drive voltage is higher than 12V but less than or equal to 24V (while the chip datasheet claims support to 35V, practical experience suggests that a conservative limit of 24V is optimal for the L298N)-for instance, when driving a motor with a rated voltage of 18V-you must first remove the jumper cap that enables the onboard 5V output. Then, connect an external 5V power source to the 5V output port to power the L298N's internal logic circuitry. (This is a non-standard application for high-voltage driving.)
