The TMC2209 is an ultra-quiet motor driver IC ( imported chip) for two-phase stepper motors. The TMC2209 is pin-compatible with many legacy drivers as well as the TMC2208. advanced StealthChop2 chopper ensures silent motor operation, high efficiency, and maximum torque. Its combination of fast current regulation and resonance suppression enables highly dynamic motion. StallGuard prevents stalls by providing sensorless homing. Built-in power MOSFETs handle motor currents to 2A RMS and feature protection and diagnostic features for stable and reliable operation. An easy-to-use UART interface opens tuning and control options. Application tuning can be stored in OTP memory. Separate pulse directions allow the drive to be configured for silent operation and very precise operation, resulting in a cost-effective and competitive solution.
