The Adafruit ADA3527 Monochrome OLED Module is a great choice if you're looking for a highly compact display for your Raspberry Pi projects.

This PiOLED is ready to snap onto any Raspberry Pi computer, providing a perfect little display with sharp white pixels. The OLED uses only the I2C pins, leaving you with plenty of GPIO connections available for buttons, LEDs, sensors, and much more. Its size and precise mounting allows it to fit into any case with ease.

The 1" diagonal screen boosts great clarity due to the high contrast of an OLED display. This screen is made of 128x32 individual white OLED pixels, and because the display makes its own light, no backlight is required. This reduces the power required to run the OLED and is why the display has such high contrast.

Using the display is simple, Adafruit has a Python library for the SSD1306 chipset. The example code allows you to draw images, create text, and much more using the Python imaging library. Initial product testing showed a 30 FPS update rate, so you can push those creative inspirations to animations or simple videos.

This board is supplied completely pre-assembled and tested, all that is left for you to do is plug it into your Pi and install your Python code. This bonnet works with any Raspberry Pi computer, including the original Pi 1, B+, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4, and Pi Zero.
