Adafruit APDS9960 Proximity, Light, RGB + Gesture Sensor Module for 3595 Description
The Adafruit APDS9960 sensor module enables basic gesture control, RGB color recognition, proximity sensing, and ambient light detection. Easily integrate it with a microcontroller using the Adafruit APDS9960 library to detect gestures (swipes in various directions), measure red, green, and light intensity, and determine object distance. Perfect for enhancing interactive projects.
Manufactured by Avago Technologies, the APDS9960 sensor features an integrated infrared LED complete with driver circuitry, along with four directional photodiodes designed to receive the infrared light reflected back from that LED. Its object proximity measurement function offers 8-bit resolution and an effective detection range of several centimeters.
The module houses four internal infrared sensors; theoretically, this endows it with the potential to detect even more complex gestures. However, the software library currently provided by Adafruit does not yet support these advanced gesture detection features...
