Advanced Nutrients Rhino Skin - 250ml

Advanced Nutrients Rhino Skin - 250ml Description

Rhino Skin is an additive that provides silicon for your plants. Silicon is one of the most abundant elements in the Earths crust and plants use this to strengthen cell walls and stiffen stems and branches. Plants that grow outside have access to a lot of silica in the ground. Indoors, however, there is usually a lack of it in hydroponic system or soil base medias. Many nutrients do not include silicon as part of their base nutrient as it is fairly difficult to keep it all stable. That is why many indoor gardeners use a silicon additive.

When plants grow outside, they are also buffeted by the wind which encourages them to toughen up. This has the benefit of making the plant sturdy enough to support fruits, especially if they are going to be heavy! Indoor plants have no need to be tough against wind, so tend to grow a bit soft. This can be a serious issue if you are boosting it for a big yield. Snapping under the weight of its own product is one of the most heart breaking things for indoor growers. Rhino Skin works to help the plant toughen up and be ready! By stiffening the structure, it also helps protect against pests that puncture cells and suck out the juices. The harder it is to pierce, the more the insect is put off.

Rhino Skin is made with a specific form of potassium silicate, which Advanced Nutrients believe to be the best, most available type for plants. They have also managed to set the pH level of Rhino Skin at 5.7 which means it works with pH Perfect nutrients in their range. Many other silicon additives can cause the pH to behave erratically, making adjustment necessary. Use Rhino Skin and give your plants a coat of armour!
