Amazon Echo Dot 4th Generation - Charcoal | Smart Speaker

Amazon Echo Dot 4th Generation - Charcoal | Smart Speaker Description

Amazon's incredibly popular smart speaker is back, and it's better than ever! The Echo Dot 4th generation is a complete reworking of the echo dot, keeping all the features that Alexa fans love while improving on the design.

Let's kick things off by examining the most obvious change: the new body that the Echo Dot 4th gen enjoys. When designing the new Echo Dot Amazon decided to swap out the cylindrical design that their previous speakers had used for a spherical body. This isn't just an aesthetic redesign. Most of the Echo Dot 4th Generation's body is taken up by a new omnidirectional speaker. This speaker is more powerful than the one found in previous Echo Dots, and has a richer, deeper bass tone. It's a brilliant smart speaker for listening to music, podcasts, the radio or audiobooks while you're at home.

The Echo Dot 4th gen has a new body but it keeps the revolutionary voice assistant that made it so popular: Amazon Alexa. When you say the Echo Dot's ‘wake word' (the default wake word is ‘Alexa' but you can customise it in the smart speaker's settings) the LED at the bottom of the speaker lights up and it's ready to take your commands.

You can use the Echo Dot Amazon Alexa function to do all sorts of things. Thanks to its internet-based encyclopedic knowledge, Alexa can answer almost any question that pops into your head, from the most mundane to the utterly obscure. You can also use it to manage your calendar and daily tasks. Set a date with Alexa and it will remind you with an audio notification.

The Echo Dot 4th Generation also works as a smart home hub. Amazon Alexa's popularity means the Echo Dot is compatible with most smart home devices on the market. Pairing devices with this smart speaker is a breeze, and you can issue commands using your voice. Want to lock your doors, adjust your heating or turn on lights without leaving your sofa? The Amazon Echo Dot 4th Generation makes it all possible!
