Biggins: My Story

Biggins: My Story Description

There's only one Christopher Biggins. The man who was crowned the King of the Jungle on TV's I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! has been at the heart of the entertainment universe for more than forty years. His radiant personality and wicked sense of humour have made him a hit with millions of fans and won him the admiration of many of his peers. Within these pages, the man affectionately known as 'Biggins' finally reveals all...In this candid autobiography, Biggins tells the full story of his colourful, packed life. He tells of how upon moving to London he became immersed in theatre life, a passion he continues to succeed in today and from which he draws countless dazzling stories, such as stripping off with Judi Dench and the time he fell asleep on stage! Thanks to television roles as diverse as Poldark, Porridge and Rentaghost, Biggins became one of the best-known faces of television and stage. Yet the path to fame and fortune was not always easy. At a time when being gay was not as freely accepted as it is today, Biggins kept a lid on his true sexuality, as well as facing problems such as brushes with the law and the overcoming of a downward spiral into debt. Like its author, this book is candid and hilarious. It is a rip-roaring read bursting with showbiz anecdotes, celebrity gossip and tales of a life lived to the full.
