Should the power run down, you can operate the torch by the press mechanism on its own powering the 3 LED's, or switch off the LED's and hand press the mechanism to recharge the internal cell to give a longer charge.
When not in use the hand charging press device is stored inside the torch and released by a button on the side, so in normal use the handle is out of the way only needing to be released when the torch needs charging.

This has to be the best bargain of the year for me. A handy little torch which does not need batteries and gives a good light. “Winding+ it up is as simple and easy as it could be. Terrific little purchase.
Bought these for the kids for emergencies. Have had to stop them playing with them so many times! Great buy, definitely worth every penny

I am so pleased with this torch. I bought three of these torches recently for emergencies and with the darker evenings now here. It winds up easily and shines brightly. It is very light to hold. Good value. I have just bought four more of theses torches for Christmas presents.! Thank you! The torches arrived promptly.
