The Surge Filter is an innovative filter that may help achieve crystal clear, wholesome water to ponds up to 5,000 Litres (1,100 Gallons ). The Surge Filter uses K+Media for improved mechanical and biological filtration, trapping tiny particles and aiding in the maintenance of biological equilibrium inside the pond. In addition, an 18 Watt UV Clarifier is included into the top of the filter to help prevent green water.

The Surge Filter is simple to install and clean, thanks to Evolution Aqua's unique Air Clean Technology. This unique air syphon design draws air into the filter as it empties, agitating the water and effectively cleaning the K+Media.

The Evolution Aqua K + Media is moulded with minerals for faster beneficial bacteria development. K + media also has a much larger surface area than any other media.

Unlike foam, matting, or other forms of static filtration media, the K+ Media is designed to move freely within your filter as a moving bed filtration system. The constant chaotic movement of the air from your pump, causes the media to self clean and thus requires no maintenance.

This allows the filter to reach optimum effectiveness without the disturbance of periodic cleaning, avoiding unnecessary loss of bacteria within the filter.
