The Excel Power XL4000ii petrol inverter generator is the updated and upgraded version of the best-selling XL4000i – now it has electric start, automatic choke, remote 2-wire start and an improved looking tough external case. 

Giving 4.5kW at a maximum there are very few generators that can compare to the specification and quality of this unit from UK brand Excel Power. This is a high-end spec generator that comes at less than the price of a low powered unit from the competitors. 

It is heavy duty and feature packed but is easy to move thanks to its integrated extendable handle and rear wheels.

Having the 2-wire start and stop is a great feature that means you can switch it off easily when not required and fire it up again without having to go outside.

Power Rating of the Excel Power XL4000ii

The XL4000ii generator has an excellent maximum rating of 4500W and a continuous rating of 4000W. This gives great scope for powering a wide range of devices.*

The maximum rating of this XL4000ii is 4.5kW and is the most this generator will provide for a short time to ‘start' things. Some devices have a starting current that is higher than its running current so this allows for that*. This generator will run comfortably at 4kW as its ‘continuous' rating but run it at a higher load and it will trip out. 

If you need more power or want some spare capacity then have a look at the Excel Power biggest, grandest inverter generator available – the XL10000ii.

XL4000ii – Electrical Connection

The XL4000ii has one UK standard 3 pin sockets which means no adapters are required and one 32A 240V (Blue socket) – this generator was designed in the UK for use in the UK!

It also has a 12VDC ‘car style' socket for powering low voltage items and a 5VDC USB connector so you can charge USB devices directly.

Do inverter generators have low emission engines?

The higher the generator, the bigger the engine – the XL4000ii uses the SH320B 244cc overhead valve engine which is emissions certified to Euro V standard. This is the best petrol engine emissions standard currently available. 

Yet another step to help is the engine is designed with E10 petrol in mind – there is no loss of performance using this more environmentally friendly fuel type.
