FLAVAMED 60mg, 10 effervescent tablets

Flavamed is a medicinal product belonging to the group of antitussive and anti-cold drugs used in the treatment of wet cough, during which phlegm is expectorated. The drug has a thinning effect and is intended for use in diseases of the lower respiratory tract - acute and chronic diseases of the lungs and bronchi. Flavamed thins thick secretions and facilitates their expectoration. Standard treatment lasts 4-5 days.

The active ingredient of the drug is ambroxol, which comes from the Indian shrub Adhatoda vasica. Its effects are noticeable after about 30 minutes of taking the dose.

Mucolytic treatment in acute and chronic bronchial and lung diseases associated with disorders of mucus production and transport.

1 tablet contains:

• active substance: ambroxol hydrochloride 30 mg,
• excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, cellulose (powder), croscarmellose sodium, povidone K 30, magnesium stearate.

Thinning mucus to facilitate expectoration.

• Children aged 6 to 12 years:  ½ tablet 2 to 3 times daily (equivalent to 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride 2-3 times daily). The maximum daily dose is 1½ tablet (equivalent to 45 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride).
• Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:  during the first 2-3 days, 1 tablet 3 times a day (equivalent to 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride 3 times a day); then 1 tablet twice a day (equivalent to 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride twice a day). The maximum daily dose is 3 tablets (equivalent to 90 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride).
• For oral use. It is best to swallow Flavamed whole after a meal, with a sufficient amount of fluid (e.g. water, tea or fruit juice).

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, ask your doctor or pharmacist. 3 The above information applies unless your doctor has recommended another use for Flavamed. Follow the instructions for use, otherwise Flavamed will not work properly. In adults, the daily dose can be increased to 2 tablets twice a day. Flavamed should not be taken for longer than 4-5 days without consulting your doctor. If after 4-5 days the symptoms do not subside or even get worse, you should see your doctor immediately. If you feel that the effect of Flavamed is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you miss a dose or take too little of your medicine, take the next prescribed dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients; children under 6 years of age. Use with caution in patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers, renal impairment and/or severe hepatic impairment, bronchial asthma (the preparation intensifies cough and causes excessive expectoration), with impaired bronchial motility (possibility of mucus stasis), during breastfeeding.
