It is a low cost CD Discman. Works well, suggest to use better earphones than the free ones supplied, with better ones, the sound was far louder. The sound of the earphones is deliberately sound limiting.

Elsewhere I got a: Groove cd discman power adapter - and that then powers this from the mains electric and worth getting.
Batteries are 2 x AA and I got elsewhere: "Green" Zero Mercury Added 1.5v Penlight Alkali ULTRA Batteries - High Quality Alkaline 1.5 volts Cells (AA x 4)
