Levofree is a medicinal product in the form of coated tablets for use in the short-term, symptomatic treatment of dry cough. It is intended for adults and children over 12 years of age, providing effective antitussive action.
How do Levofree dry cough tablets work?The active substance of the drug is levodropropizine, which belongs to the group of antitussive drugs. Levodropropizine acts directly on the mechanisms responsible for the cough reflex, effectively reducing its intensity. It relieves dry, troublesome cough, often causing throat irritation and discomfort.
The package contains 20 coated tablets, enclosed in a convenient blister, which facilitates their storage and ensures hygienic conditions of use.
Symptomatic treatment of dry cough in adults and children over 12 years of age.
1 tablet contains:
- active substance: levodropropizine 60 mg,
- tablet core: mannitol (E 421), microcrystalline cellulose (E 460), sodium starch glycolate (type A), colloidal anhydrous silica (E 551), magnesium stearate (E 470b),
- coating: polyvinyl alcohol (E 1203), titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 3350 (E 1521), talc (E 553b).
Antitussive.
- Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
- Adults and adolescents 12 years of age and over: 1 film-coated tablet three times daily with an interval of at least 6 hours between doses.
- Use in children: Due to the strength of the active substance and the recommended dosage, Levofree, 60 mg, film-coated tablets are not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.
- Method of administration: Levofree is intended for oral use. It is recommended to take the medicine between meals with a glass of water. The score line on the tablet is only to help break the tablet if the patient has difficulty swallowing it whole.
- Duration of treatment: for short-term use. The medicine should be used until the cough stops, but Levofree should not be used for longer than 7 days. If the cough does not subside or gets worse, consult a doctor.
