ProRep Tortoise Life Bio 10L Description

ProRep Tortoise Life Bio 10L - Part of the species-specific Life series of substrates. Created to meet the needs of Tortoises originating from dry habitats, particularly Mediterranean and Russian Tortoises. A blend of professional quality loam, soft fine sand and coconut husk providing the ideal mix of texture and moisture retention. This will stimulate the soils found in their natural habitats. The addition of coconut husk will allow for a lighter substrate without the mineral content. This will then increase the organic material in the mix provides peace of mind if accidentally ingested. Also suitable for many species of lizards that originate from similar habitats.

Directions: 

1. Spread the substrate evenly over the bottom of the enclosure to a depth of at least 2" (5cm) for young animals and 6" (15cm) or more for mature animals. Russian tortoises particularly may need a deeper substrate as they burrow extensively.

1. Spot-clean daily to remove soiled substrate and replace completely every 2 or 3 weeks. You can spray areas of the substrate to keep it slightly damp and to provide local humidity, but avoid making the substrate too wet.
